Bagel Fun Facts!

• Bagels have three holidays: February 9th is National Bagel Day, July 26th is National Bagel Fest Day, and December 11th is National “Have a Bagel” Day. I plan to celebrate all of them.

• There is such a thing as “Buzzed bagels” — they contain the caffeine equivalent of 2 cups of coffee.

• Despite all the different bagel flavors, the most popular bagel choice is plain.

• The largest bagels ever made was 868 lbs.

• Astronaut Gregory Chamitoff brought 18 bagels into outer space in 2008.

• The everything bagel was invented by a 15 year old.

• In 2018 Apple released the bagel emoji but people complained the bagel had nothing on it. It has since been redesigned with cream cheese.

• In Poland in 1600’s, it was thought that women who had recently given birth should be presented with a bagel. I agree!
